China to encourage outbound investment in foreign companies: Report

China reportedly says it'll encourage more investment in foreign companies... in response to U.S. efforts to block Chinese firms making inroads for their alleged theft of intellectual property.
The People's Daily, run by the Communist Party, reported Sunday... that China's Vice Minister of Commerce, Wang Shouwen , said this at the World Trade Organization headquarters in Geneva.
He touted China's contribution to global growth and the economic recovery through the facilitation of free trade since it joined the WTO 17 years ago.
His remarks come after the U.S. slapped tariffs on Chinese imports due to its concerns about deals made by Chinese companies, backed by the government, targeting U.S. military and security-related technologies.
