A fan who chose to celebrate England’s victory over Sweden in their 2018 World Cup quarter-final on July 7 by causing severe damage to the roof of a local taxi cab in Nottingham, was condemned by fellow England fans on Twitter. The incident, which was recorded by Twitter user @DevonteiGibson in Nottingham’s Beast Market Hill area, shows the man being cheered on as he stands on the roof of the cab before falling through. Wearing a t-shirt around his face to disguise his identity, he is then lifted off the roof and hugged by some of those cheering nearby, while a chant of “where’s your taxi gone,” begins among the crowd.“The car was just abandoned and left,” @DevonteiGibson told Storyful, adding that the man “went off after the incident.”Additional footage posted to Twitter shows the extent of the damage. Comments on the video largely derided the man’s actions, with one comment calling the actions “disgusting,” while the man was labeled a “clown” and “embarrassing” by another Twitter user..Nottingham resident Paul Day meanwhile added, “Well, doesn’t that just make you feel proud to come from Nottingham? Tosser.” Credit: @DevonteiGibson via Storyful
