National School Walkout on Gun Reform Arrives on Columbine Anniversary Over 2,600 walkouts are planned on the 19th anniversary of the tragic shooting in Colorado, which claimed the lives of 12 students, as well as a teacher. The demonstrations will begin at 10 a.m. in each city’s respective time zone and will begin with a 13-second moment of silence to honor those killed
in Columbine. The National School Walkout aims to: It takes place just over one month after the massacre at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Florida. On February 14, gunman Nikolas Cruz shot and killed 17 people in Parkland, intensifying the debate on gun control.
