Il progetto Lennon Kelly prende vita nel 2011 tra le verdi colline romagnole, più precisamente a Cesena, da un comune interesse per la musica folk dei 7 elementi che compongono la band. In realtà la scintilla scocca tra le montagne della Valle d’Aosta, dove Vasco “Bartowski” Abbondanza e Mirco “Circo” Turci, armati rispettivamente di chitarra e violino, gettano le basi del sound che verrà, sotto il sole estivo di una vacanza allo stesso tempo pastorale e alcolica. Nascono così le prime canzoni dei Lennon Kelly, a cui si uniranno Costantino “Roman” Valentini, Alessandro “Pobre” Valentini, Cristofer “Cisti” Graffieti, Enrico “Perry” Ricci e Davide “Davino”Paci.
7 elementi dalle influenze musicali diverse tra loro che porteranno le melodie irlandesi a fondersi con il punk così come con il rock, aggiungendo a jigs e reels sfumature elettriche e graffianti su testi ora in stile cantautorato, ora diretti e rabbiosi, rifacendosi alle sonorità di Flogging Molly, Pogues e Modena City Ramblers, tanto per citarne alcuni. Da qui le prime date in Romagna, tra cui la partecipazione e la vittoria al concorso per band “Tana Liberi Tutti” che porterà alla produzione del primo, omonimo EP nel 2012, registrato per metà al Capannone Records di Sorrivoli e per metà all’Albero della Musica di Mirko Casadei, per poi affidare il mastering al Tam Tam Studio di Cesena di Ray Magalotti.
The Lennon Kelly project comes to life in 2011 among the green hills of Romagna, more precisely in Cesena, from a common interest in the folk music of the 7 elements that make up the band. In reality, the sparkle is blowing in the mountains of the Valle d'Aosta, where Vasco "Bartowski" Abbondanza and Mirco "Circo" Turci, armed respectively with guitar and violin, lay the foundations of the sound that will come, under the summer sun of a holiday to the pastoral and alcoholic time itself. This is how the first songs of Lennon Kelly are born, to which Costantino "Roman" Valentini, Alessandro "Pobre" Valentini, Cristofer "Cisti" Graffieti, Enrico "Perry" Ricci and Davide "Davino" Paci will join.
7 elements with different musical influences that will bring the Irish melodies to melt with the punk as well as with the rock, adding jigs and reels to electric and scratching tones on lyrics now in songwriting style, now direct and angry, referring to the sounds of Flogging Molly, Pogues and Modena City Ramblers, just to name a few. Hence the first dates in Romagna, including the participation and the victory in the "Tana Liberi Tutti" band competition that will lead to the production of the first EP in 2012, half recorded at the Capannone Records of Sorrivoli and half of the Tree of Music by Mirko Casadei, to then entrust the mastering to Tam Tam Studio of Cesena by Ray Magalotti.
