Yardij — a female-fronted band from South Florida — played a stripped-down version of their new single in this episode of Balcony TV.
Deja Elyze (Lead Vocals/Guitar), Nick Fernandez (Lead Guitar/Backing Vocals), Alex "Donny P" Athanasaw (Bass) and Jordan Solomon (Drums) make up this 4-piece indie outfit. “We want people to have fun with our music but also gain a sense of awareness, consciousness and good vibes all around." says the band.
Deja Elyze's signature vocals drive the band's high energy performances, and their rhythmic grooves won recognition even in their early years. Formed in 2014, Yardij's first show as an original band was one of the last performances at Miami's famous Tobacco Road. Since then they have released 2 EPs, "The Blue Room" and "Something Along the Lines.” “Our goal isn't to embody a certain genre or attract a certain people, it’s to simply make good music,” says Deja
The band is gearing up to release their third EP, "Face Value.” The band won HardRock Rising's 2015 regional competition, also won Broward County's DUENDE Battle of the Bands, which led to their performance in Pompano's Mess O' Blues Fest. The also played Sunfest's 2015 main stage, and have played the Florida Music Festival each year since 2015. In 2017 they opened for Bon Jovi at the BB&T Center and performed at the Okeechobee Music and Arts Festival that same year.
