It seemed like a daunting task but poor old Hannah the Narrrowboat really did need a new coat of paint and I thought why not have a go ourselves and save a stack of money! To be honest the actual painting was not too difficult, you just had to be pretty quick. The real work was in the preparation, and i mean really hard work. We had pitting to fill in and needed a really smooth surface to paint on which took a ton of sanding with varying grades of sand paper. We gave her 3 coats of paint for those wondering with a light sanding between each coat.
I created the artwork for the boat name and got one of my friends to vinyl cut it which I think was a good alternative to sign writing it as it can easily be taken off and replaced. I think she turned out pretty good in the end and am very pleased with our efforts - and we saved a load of cash!
