The Medal of Honor: Allied Assault team broke off and formed their own company called Infinity Ward. Infinity Ward released a PC exclusive (at the time) shooter called Call of Duty. The series got a couple of spin off titles for the Xbox,. Playstation 2 and Gamecube in the form of Finest Hour and Big Red One, but it was inevitable that Infinity Ward would make a proper sequel at some point. That came in the form of Call of Duty 2, released for PCs and as an Xbox 360 launch title in 2005.
This game was widely praised, and for good reason. I do not like the move from health packs to regenerating health, but the level design is still great. The mission variety is good. Graphically, it is a pretty sizable leap from the first game. In a lot of ways, it takes everything the first game did and ramps it up and expands on it. Despite the later reputation for being the Michael Bay of video game series, this game actually was very good.
