There's been a lot of talk about a potential Oprah Winfrey 2020 presidential run and speculation about whether she could beat President Trump. According to a Rasmussen poll conducted on January 8 and 9, she could and by about 10 points.  48% of the 1,000 likely voters surveyed said that if election day was today, they would vote for Winfrey, while 38% stuck with Trump.  14% remained undecided.
The pro-Winfrey camp included 22% of Republicans, 76% of Democrats, and 44% of those who don't affiliate with either major party. Trump was favored by 66% of the Republicans, 12% of the Democrats, and 38% of the others. Oprah 2020 became a trending topic after Sunday's Golden Globe Awards, during which she gave a powerful speech.
There has since been a great deal of speculation about how a Winfrey-Trump faceoff would play out.
Winfrey has remained silent on that topic, but President Trump has expressed confidence that he would emerge victorious.
Even though Trump doesn't think she'll run, he told reporters Tuesday, "Yeah, I'll beat Oprah."
He also shared kind words about Winfrey, saying he knows her "very well" and "likes" her.
