CADE is an Indie-Folk/Dream-Folk project based out of Toronto, Ontario, authored by Kaiya Cade. Kaiya Cade (daughter of blues guitarist, Brooke Blackburn, of the band Blackburn) formed the project with fellow musicians two years ago, and has since recorded one EP which can be streamed on her official website and Bandcamp page. CADE is composed of Kaiya Cade (lead vocals, guitar, and piano), Josh Bois (supporting vocals and guitar), Wesley Allen (upright bass), Julian Clarke (percussion and drums), and Adelaide Beach (supporting vocals and violin). Together, these musicians produce a folk sound that both embraces the nostalgia of traditional folk acoustic instrumentation, and expresses a progressive sonic aesthetic in its mystical, haunting vocal melodies and rhythms. CADE embodies the rhythmic drive of R&B, the ethereal and haunting vocal melodies of celtic folk song, and the nostalgic acoustic instrumentation of North American traditional folk.
