Guitakora, was born in November 2010 as a result of the musical affinity of the two members Effie Psiachoulia, from Greece, and Fermín Orlando Iturrios García, from Mexico. The style of the group, focuses on the fusion of West African music, rhythms of the India, Greece, Mexico, jazz and traditional sounds of the isthmus of Tehuantepec, Oaxaca.
They have performed in various locations of the Mexican Republic as Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Xalapa, Guanajuato and Mexico City, promoting their new album “Guitakora”, name that also designates the grouping, with musical compositions ranging from jazz, bossa nova, traditional and compositions and personal arrangements.
It should be noted that they have previously performed also in cities such as Westcliff-on-Sea, United Kingdom; Athens, Greece, and Varanasi, India, promoting their unique and unmatched sound style.
Guitakora at this moment are playing as a quartet :
