Teko Porã is a brazilian band from Sao Paulo, whose project was started by playing in the subway and trying to strengthen the street music scenario in the city.
Their music carries so many different influences - such as Brazilian popular music, gipsy, Irish, classical, rock and folk - that it makes it hard to fit in one style alone.
The band's songs intend to show the point of view of marginalized peoples throughout History (gipsy, black, indigenous).
To show their strong connections with Brazilian's ancestors, they even sing songs in tupi-guarani, indigenous idiom that has also baptized the band, Teko Porã, meaning well being with harmony.
"We are focused on the production of the new album. Haveté, irmão! ", says Teko Porã.
"Roma" is a composition of Marília Caldéron.
