With the rabeca (brazilian fiddle)), guitar, triangle, zabumba drum, vocal and percussions, Xaxado Novo preserves the "baião" tradition, in honor of the great masters of brazilian musical culture such as Luiz Gonzaga, Marines, and Jackson do Pandeiro.
The band travels through various northeastern brazilian rhythms such as xote, rastapé, coco, xaxado, baião, and the various cultures who contributed to the evolution of northeastern brazilian music such as the Gypsy and Arabs.
Formed by multi-instrumentalist researchers of traditional cultures, the group goes beyond music to include performances and public interactions in its presentations. The band’s "Cangaço" look, made famous by Luiz Gonzaga, invokes characters of brazilian history such as "caboclos", "vaqueiros" and "cangaceiros" that continue to inspire the popular imagination.
Xaxado Novo won many premius and the Best Music Awards, in the FENFIT - Itaúnas Festival 2015, the biggest forró festival in Brazil, and is becoming a revelation in brazilian independent music.
