The austrian soulsinger Mel Verez has always been into music and singing, but she really started to write songs and make her own music when she was 12. At that time she realized that singing and writing lyrics can bring out hidden emotions and can heal a soul like a therapy.
Since she is 17 she tours with different bands all over Europe and sets the house on fire because of her strong and soulful voice and her powerful performance. While she was working on her first debut album she started to study jazz vocals in Vienna and founded her own band “Gordopac” with saxophone player Alex Borek.
Mel had a strong career boost when she made it to the german music show “The Voice of Germany” where she sang on TV in front of millions of people, presenting her powerful and outstanding voice.
Afterwards she released 2 albums with her former funk project “Gordopac” which have airplay on some European radio stations. In 2014 she was traveling around in London, Hungary and China and jamming with great musicians of “Incognito”, “Chaka Khan” and “Basement project” and “Random Trip”. She also ranks at one of the best songwriters in Austria. (Amadeus Top 25 Songwriter Category). Mel is currently working on her EP (will be out in autumn 2016) with her new solo project “MEL VEREZ” including producer and guitar player Thomas Palme.
The new catchy single “You can always go back” has a big potential to become the next summerhit and it will be released on the 27th of June 2016!
