A la estela de la reciente oleada de pop electrónico taciturno e intimista que ha recorrido en los últimos años las islas británicas surge GANGES, proyecto madrileño que comparten Teresa Gutiérrez, Álvaro Berceruelo y Jorge Aylagas. A principios de año lanzaban su EP de debut, Lost Æsthetics, con hitos claros como la dreampopera Origami y en el que la sugerente voz de Teresa se erige como gran reclamo. Su propuesta es elegancia, sensibilidad y buen hacer. Melodías hipnóticas, flirteando entre el límite de la sonoridad más orgánica y la más ambiental en un dreampop que atrapa e invita a perderse en su mundo de neblina y nostalgia.
Recientemente también se han atrevido con el español en el single 400 millas norte, en el que, sin renunciar a sus cualidades evocadoras, abren una nueva vía de exploración hacia un pop más radiofónico.
In the wake of the recent wave of moody and intimate electronic pop that has swept the British Isles in the last few years, comes GANGES, a project from Madrid that is shared by Teresa Gutiérrez, Álvaro Berceruelo and Jorge Aylagas. At the beginning of the year they released their debut EP, Lost Æsthetics, with clear hits like the dream pop Origami and on which Teresa’s provocative voice asserts itself. More recently they have also sung in Spanish on the single 400 millas norte, on which without losing sight of their evocative qualities, they open up a new path of exploration towards a more radiophonic pop.
“Our #SXSW artist of the day is Madrid-based trio GANGES. The band has yet to release a full-length album but has released a steady stream of singles recently. Their minimalist approach to pop features a subdued rhythm section and ethereal electric piano and is recommended listening for fans of twee and electronic pop.
