Two Polish climbers are reported missing in the himalayas after their successful first winter ascent of Broad Peak, the world's 12th highest mountain at 8047m located in the Karakorum range of Pakistan. Two of the 4-man Polish Himalayan Winter 2010-2015 team, Adam Bielecki and Artur Malek, headed back down to camp 4 after summiting whilst the other 2, Tomasz Kowalski and Maciej Berbeka were forced to bivouac at 7900m, as their level of exhaustion did not allow them to continue their descent. Concerns are being raised as the weather conditions, levels of fatigue and technicality of the descent are high. We got the lowdown on Broad Peak and what the team may now be facing from a 2008 expedition member, Christian Trommsdorff, who serves as the head of the Compagnie des Guides de Chamonix.
