Foreign investors sold US$2b Malaysian equities in 2014

Midf research said Malaysia was the biggest loser in terms of foreign fund outflow in the region in 2014 incurring a net sale of 2 billion dollars which was the biggest since the 2008 crisis exodus.

Its research head, Zulkifli Hamzah said despite the selldown, the five-year cumulative net purchases by foreign investors amounted to 8.8 billion dollars of which the overhang of foreign liquidity in the system was still very high.
