Sr Kate Wellings and new RFDS doctor David Ratcliffe come into conflict when a young farm boy is struck by lightning. Although Sam manages to get the Nomad to the scene of the incident, the medicos are unable to return to Coopers Crossing because of the ferocity of the storm. Kate argues that euthanasia is the answer as Ricky is in so much pain, however Dr Ratcliffe is determined to save the boy. Ricky's grandfather unplugs the life support. Vic experiences problems with his beer supply and there are problems with Kate's wedding dress.
