Prisoners Given Injection to Alleviate Opioid Drug Addiction

High-priced monthly injections are being provided to prisoners to see if it alleviates their opioid addiction. The drug is call Vivitrol and many researchers skeptic that it actually works. Each shot cost $1,000 and many believe it may be a ineffective drug making money feeding into hope many have to rid their opioid addiction. Still, after researching the effect it had on prisoners Vivitrol seems like a hopeful avenue for opioid addicts. One prisoner stated, “I don’t have cravings. I see how much better life is. It gets better really fast.”
