Jean Philippe Lemée / Yves Trémorin - Fort La Latte

One of the 20 videos called "Projects of Projects". The idea here is to create a series of works that would ne totally neutral or uninteresting. Such a creation is not that easy : it is not easy to be totally uninteresting ! Jean-Philippe Lemée, art history teacher at School Year Abroad France, explains the total neutrality of a Project done at the famous (too famous to be neutral) Fort la Latte in Brittany (France). Tony Curtis and Kirk Douglas have been living here for a while, when they would play "The Vikings". One has to know something : JP Lemée was born exactly during that time, during the same summer... a little further (behing Kirk and his helmet, ordering the assault of the fortification). JP was here ! One has to know something else : Kirk is a viking of the Xth century here, while the chateau is a medieval gothic one, while JP Lemée is a man of the XXth century. How to remain uninteresting in spite of all this ? A real challenge... Yves Trémorin is behind "our" camera.

Le Projet consiste à créer des travaux artistiques totalement neutres ou inintéressants. Telle création n'est pas aisée : il n'est pas facile d'être totalement inintéressant ! Jean-Philippe Lemée, professeur d'histoire de l'art à SYA France, défend la totale neutralité d'un Projet réalisé à proximité du célèbre (trop célèbre pour être neutre) Fort La Latte en Bretagne (France). Tony Curtis et Kirk Douglas ont vécu dans les parages alors qu'ils tournaient le film "Les Vikings". Ici, il faut savoir que JP Lemée est né exactement au même moment... un peu plus loin (derrière Kirk avec son casque, donnant l'ordre d'attaquer le château. JP était là ! Il faut également savoir ceci : Kirk est un viking du Xè siècle, alors que le château est gothique, alors que JP Lemée est un homme du XXè siècle. Comment rester inintéressant malgré tout ? Un vrai défi... L'artiste Yves Trémorin est derrière la caméra.
