Solar Light Company, Inc. Model 6D Ultraviolet Safety Meter

Solar Light’s Model 6D Ultraviolet Safety Meter is a valuable safety tool for any industry that involves worker exposure to UV radiation. It is sensitive to ultraviolet radiation specified as hazardous by the American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists. These standards state that the total UV exposure in an eight-hour period should not exceed 3 millijoules per square centimeter at 270nm. The 6D Safety Meter monitors the integrated effect of all ultraviolet wavelengths from the light source.

This compact laboratory-grade instrument is handheld, with a self-contained detector mounted on its top panel, and a simple on/off switch operation. The meter’s LCD displays the maximum safe exposure time in hours down to the hundredths detail. A reading of 10.00 hours indicates a safe source too weak to reach the Threshold Limit Value during 8 hour working day.

Applications include environmental monitoring, UV curing, semiconductor fabrication, printing, and welding.

Solar Light Company, Inc. has been recognized worldwide for over 50 years as America's premier manufacturer of precision ultraviolet light sources, solar simulators, and radiometers. Our standard line of UV, visible, and IR radiometers and light meters measure laboratory, industrial, environmental, and health related light levels with NIST traceable accuracy. Column ozone, aerosol, and water vapor thickness measurements, in addition to long-term global ultraviolet radiation studies all over the world are performed using our atmospheric line of instrumentation. Solar Light also provides NIST traceable spectroradiometric analyses, calibrations for light meters and light sources, accelerated ultraviolet radiation degradation testing of materials, and OEM instrumentation and monitors.
