We’re launching 2016 with Cathy Cooper, an eternal, tell-it-like-it-is rebel who battled a destructive addiction to heroin and alcohol and resurrected herself as an artist of all mediums (she plays in a rock band, she’s a sculptor, a painter, and a performance artist). By relentlessly making art, the 55-year-old says “Suck it!” to our culture’s notion that a woman’s creativity comes with an expiration date. More so, in effortless layers of camouflage, stripes, and plaid, Cathy shows the corporate, formulaic social-media universe the all-inspiring power of individuality on display.

Thank you to Daniela London, of the forthcoming clothing brand Choose Love, for providing us with the space to shoot all of our Los Angeles episodes.

Cathy's video was edited by Andrea Cruz and Monika Baskiewicz
