Shopper Gets Trapped Inside CVS After Entering Minutes Before Store's Closing

On Friday, a woman looking for a birthday card at a Titusville, Florida CVS ended up trapped inside the store.

Many have found themselves needing to make a late evening trip to one store or another, but next time that happens, shoppers may want to take note of the establishment’s closing time.
Florida Today reports that on Friday at about 9:50 pm, Lillian Rimmel darted into a Titusville, Florida CVS to grab a birthday card. Though when she walked in, she was unaware that the store was closing in 10 minutes, she learned that soon after.
Rimmel said that at a little after 10 and with card in hand she headed toward the checkout area. On her way, she set off a motion sensor alarm, which, in turn, activated a security gate and an alarm siren, notes WESH.
She began to scream for help, hoping there were still employees in the store who could help her. When none replied, Rimmel called a friend, and on that person’s advice, dialed 911.
Police arrived, and, while waiting for the store manager to come and unlock the door, they helped keep Rimmel calm. She was ultimately able to make her card purchase and leave the store.
A spokesperson for CVS apologized for what happened and said the company will look into the incident.
