Trump signs bill extending health care choices for veterans

President Donald Trump signed a bill that will temporarily extend a program that allows veterans to receive healthcare from local doctors and hospitals. Trump stated that he signed the Veterans Choice Program bill because veterans “have not been taken care of properly.” The extension will let Veterans Affairs Secretary David Shulkin continue operating the Choice Program until the funding runs out. David Shulkin The Veterans Choice Program was scheduled to expire on August 7, but the bill will extend it into early next year.
