KARACHI: Sindh High Court (SHC) on Monday while hearing a case on non-payment of salaries and pensions to Pakistan Steel Mill (PSM) employees summoned a written reply from both parties by April 7, ARY News reported.
While hearing the case, the bench expressed resentment over non-payment to the employees and queried the reason of delay in salaries and pensions for last four months.
The employees of PSM had staged a protest last month, demanding immediate release of their salaries and pensions. Pakistan Steel Labour Union (PASLU) while highlighting the problems being confronted by the employees had said that the workers did not have received salaries for months.
The employees of PSM have time to time staged protests in demand of their salaries.
Last year, the situation had got tense when the production of the mill was reportedly became zero for a period of over 16 months resulting in non-payment of salaries to employees for months by pilling up liabilities.
