ISLAMABAD: Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa met Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in Islamabad on Tuesday, ARY News reported.

According to a spokesman of Prime Minister House, the Army Chief discussed the issues of national and regional security and the situation at national borders.

In the meeting that held at the Prime Minister’s House, prevailing law and order situation in the county was also discussed.

The ongoing Zarb-e-Azb operation in tribal areas and other anti-terrorism operations also came under discussion in the meeting.

The army chief briefed the prime minister on the progress made in Karachi Operation and Operation Zarb-e-Azb. The premier expressed his satisfaction over the achievements gained in the military’s crackdown against terrorists and extremists in the country.

Prime Minister Sharif and COAS Bajwa also discussed the issue of extending the military courts and other matters of national interest, sources said.
