Thousands of Skittles meant for cows ended up on a Wisconsin road

Cows in southeast Wisconsin are a little grumpier this week as a large shipment of Skittles meant for them ended up spilled all over a highway. Thousands of red Skittles were found on the highway, and despite actually helping improve the icy road conditions, the local sheriff department had no idea where they came from. As it would later turn out, the Skittles were being transported to some farms for the cows there. Apparently, this is a practice that has been going on for years. Old, rejected sweets provide a cheap carb option for many farmers. Now you know the reason next time your hamburger tastes a little like strawberries.
