What you need to know about the post-inauguration women's march on Washington

As many as 200,000 people are expected to attend January 21's Women's March on Washington. "We stand together in solidarity with our partners and children for the protection of our rights, our safety, our health, and our families — recognizing that our vibrant and diverse communities are the strength of our country," the march's mission statement explains. The march is not only for women, the site explains, but for "any person, regardless of gender or gender identity, who believes women’s rights are human rights." The march stands for gender equality, reproductive health and anti-discriminatory healthcare for LGBTQIA members of society to start. It protests against racial profiling and mass deportation. There will be a rally before the march that will begin at 10 a.m. on January 21 at the intersection of Independence Avenue and Third Street SW, right near the Capitol building.
