Peter, Paul and you!

A Christian's monetary contribution in the church is solely for distribution to the poor, saints especially. Those who take care of the Lord's flock have to abide by the command: 'freely you have received, freely give.' Able ministers of the New Testament have two options to meet their needs: either work for their own livelihood as did the Apostle Paul, or lodge in the homes of worthy believers as did the Apostle Peter. Living upon the contributions of the flock, whether raised on a voluntary basis or an imposed manner, is unscriptural, is a hindrance to the gospel of Jesus Christ, and a misuse of one's power in the gospel. May the good Lord give grace to his flock to discern between those who serve Him and those who do not.
