A black teenager was killed after a driver allegedly ran him over with his jeep on purpose, reports the Portland Mercury.
The incident took place on August 10 at a Gresham, Oregon, 7-Eleven where 38-year-old Russell Courtier, a Caucasian man, is said to have gotten into a confrontation with 19-year-old Larnell Bruce.
According to an investigation affidavit, as the two men started fighting, Courtier's girlfriend, Colleen Hunt, encouraged her boyfriend by saying, "Get him, baby...Get him, baby!”
The affidavit notes that during the fight when the teen brandished a knife, the older man allegedly decided to get in his car and chase him down.
After two attempts, Courtier allegedly hit the young man who died three days later.  Courtier and Hunt have been charged with murder.
What started the initial conflict is still unknown, but the Portland Mercury points out that Courtier is “a long-time member of a white supremacist prison gang called European Kindred.”
PEOPLE reports that "both Courtier and Hunt pleaded not guilty in Bruce's death during an Aug. 22 court appearance."
