Racist white man intentionally travels to NYC to kill black men

NEW YORK — A Maryland man travelled to New York City and fatally stabbed an African-American man in an alleged random and racially motivated attack on Monday night.
James Jackson, 28, travelled from Baltimore to New York by bus on Friday. It was later revealed that he chose to launch the attack in New York in order to get media attention for his crime.
On Monday night, Jackson was seeking his target on the streets when he met Timothy Caughman, who was collecting bottles from trash cans. Jackson then stabbed Caughman repeatedly in the chest with an 18-inch blade sword. Just after midnight on Wednesday, Jackson went to a police station in Times Square and confessed.
“He was very forthcoming with us,” Assistant Chief William Aubry, the commander of Manhattan South detectives told the New York Times. “He knew what he was doing when he was coming up here, and he relayed all of that information to us.”
Police arrested Jackson on a charge of second-degree murder, but the charge will likely be upgraded to hate crime.
