In this episode, David is staying 24 hours in Johannesburg, South Africa. David’s first stop is the Neighbourgoods Market. This Saturday market is housed in a modernist building that has a spectacular 15-story wall mural by the famed artist Eduardo Villa. The market has farm fresh foods and specialty items.
Second thing to do in Johannesburg is visit the Apartheid Museum. The museum is dedicated to illustrating apartheid and the 20th century history of South Africa.
Afterwards he heads to Vilakazi Street, the only street in the world where two Noble Prize winners lived. President Nelson Mandela and the Archbishop Desmund Tutu. Next up is Nelson Mandela’s House, which has now been turned into a museum.
David then visits to the Orlando Towers. These iconic towers now offer any adrenaline junkie the opportunity to bungee jump! David decided to go for the leap!
And the last place David visits is the Lesedi Cultural Village. Located 45 minutes north of Johannesburg, this cultural village gives people an insight on the lives of five different tribes from South Africa. The five tribes are the Zulu, Xhosa, Pedi, Basotho and Ndebele tribes.
