The BTEC Level 3 Advanced Restraint and Breakaway Instructors Qualifying Course is designed for you if you are looking to become qualified as a Physical Restraint / Physical Intervention Trainer in the full continuum of skills from very low level and least intrusive interventions, suitable for staff who may have to deal with vulnerable young people or vulnerable adults or whose staff perform low risk security or door supervision roles, through to the more restrictive holds required for staff who have to deal with a much higher degree of challenging behaviour or more aggressive and violent behaviour.

The training has been developed as part of a 'Minimising Restraint Strategy' aimed to help organisations set goals for the reduction of restraint by helping them explore other alternatives to restraint such as the use of 'advance statements / directives', exploring environmental and cultural change with more of a focus on care and dignity.

Therefore, it is suitable for those of you who are looking to provide physical restraint training in mental health areas as well as schools, care homes and the NHS.

In addition, this course is compliant with all aspects of legislation related to the use of physical force so it helps organisations safeguard against the abuse and neglect of its service users whilst keeping staff safe.

The course also provides training for those of you who wish to achieve the BTEC Level 3 Award for Deliverers of Physical Intervention Skills for the Private Security Industry Award (Qcf) to enable you as a trainer to deliver physical intervention training for door supervisors.
