A new study suggests that women and young adults are the most likely to suffer from anxiety disorders. The study, which was published this week in Brain and Behavior, states that women are twice as likely as men to suffer from anxiety. According to the study, people of both genders under the age of 35 living in North America and Western Europe are also most affected by anxiety. In general, the researchers found that four out of every 100 people worldwide experience anxiety. Obsessive compulsive disorder was found to be double in pregnant women and even higher in those with postpartum depression.
