PORTLAND, OREGON — A mother who returned to her house with her two young children early Sunday morning discovered an intruder inside, and shot and killed him.
Portland Police said the 33-year-old woman shot the 59-year-old man inside her Powellhurst-Gilbert home sometime before 1:47 a.m.
The woman has not yet been identified, but authorities said she came home with her 5- and 10 year-old children and discovered the man hiding inside a closet of one of her children’s bedrooms, according to Oregon Live.
Armed with a handgun, she shot and killed the suspect.
The identity of the male suspect has not yet been made public. The victim’s name will be released once an autopsy is performed and the man’s family is notified.
