X Factor kicks off with a Lyricist special episode. In this episode X Factor pays tribute to all the legendary song writers. Sanjay Leela Bhansali selects Anand Bakshi's songs, Shreya Ghoshal choses Gulzar's songs for her team and Sonu Nigam goes with his favorite Javed Akhtar. The show proceeds with Nirmitee's performance on 'Dum Maaro Dum' written by Anand Bakshi. Their power packed performance makes them ear a lot of applause. The next one to hit the stage is Geet Sagar, who performs Gulzar written 'Dil To Baccha Hai Ji'. Seema Jha enters the stage with a Madhuri Dixit item number 'Ek Do Teen' written by Javed Akhtar. She also dances on a special request from Aditya Narayan and Shreya Ghoshal. She shows her signature dance steps. Sajda Sisters performs the mesmerizing 'Do Lafzon Ki Hai' written by Anand Bakshi. Their performance makes them get appreciations from Sonu Nigam, a hug from Shreya Ghoshal and a rose from Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Amit Jhadav takes the stage with a meteorite performance on 'Dil Se'. Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Shreya Ghoshal tell him that this has been his best performance till date. Sahiti G performs calmly on 'Mere Humsafar', sung by Sonu Nigam and Alka Yagnik and written by Javed Akhtar. She gets hugs from Shrey Ghoshal and Sonu Nigam. Kartar Singh performs very peacefully on 'Beeti Na Bitayi Raina'. According to judges, performance was good but he needs to perform better with the rising standard of the show. Deewana Group comes up with what Sanjay Leela Bhansali calls the mother of all item songs, 'Mehbooba O Mehbooba' from the movie Sholay. Sonu Nigam appreciates them about singing it in their own style. Sanjay Leela Bhansali hugs them for their class apart performance. Attempting a soft and soothing number and going out of his genre, rockstar Piyush Kapoor performs 'Kaisi Hai Ye Rut', written by Javed Akhtar. He shows his fear of not being able to perform this song properly. The Last Minute divas perform splendidly on Kahin Aag Lage, written by Anand Bakshi, and sung by Asha Bhosle, Richa Sharma and X Factor host, Aditya Narayan. Sanjay Leela Bhansali tells them that this was their best performance so far as it is very brave to attempt any Asha Bhosle Song. The performer of the week award goes to Seema Jha for her performances on Roz Shaam Aati Thi and Ek Do Teen.
