This video presents the prototype SoundRelief developped at the Laboratory of Electromagnetics and Acoustics in the frame of the 2012 Montreux Jazz Festival.
The active protoype is composed of 64 small full-range loudspeakers (Monacor SPX-30M), individually actuated by a sensorless active isolation concept, and used as a ultra-thin partition (the aluminium frame is 2 mm, and the loudspeaker dimension does not exceed 5 cm). When turned on, they achieve a sound attenuation of almost 20 dB in the low-frequency range.
