Study: Dogs Can Recognize Emotions In People

A recent study has concluded that dogs can recognize emotions in people after the canine participants were largely able to match the emotion in a sound cue with the corresponding visual representation without additional training.

Dogs may have a special relationship with humans because of a unique ability not seen in other animals, according to a new study.
A press release issued by the University of Lincoln in the U.K. states, “Dogs can recognise emotions in humans by combining information from different senses.” 
Instead of simply responding as taught, they can “form abstract mental representations of positive and negative emotional states.”
