A teacher who claimed to have been stabbed by a masked man at a kindergarten on Monday "made up the attack," the Paris prosecutor's office told CNN.
The male teacher claimed to have been stabbed in the throat by a masked man who yelled that the attack "was for Daesh."
Daesh is one of the names widely used for ISIS, or the Islamic State.
The teacher, who is hospitalized with nonlife-threatening injuries, was in class in the Paris suburb of Aubervilliers when the alleged attack took place, French newspaper Le Parisien reported.
The newspaper said the attacker was described as having worn a balaclava.
He reportedly used a sharp item found in the classroom to slash the teacher.
No students were in the classroom at the time, the paper said.
