As United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon praised Friday’s upcoming meeting to seek a non-military solution for the Syrian conflict, people inside Syria began to mount public awareness campaigns to develop an interior front. Women came together in Damascus last weekend to discuss ways of dealing with the problem of women displaced by the crisis. Meetings are bringing together participants from all sectors of Syrian society with the aim of reinforcing the idea that Syrian society is one and indivisible.
