Venezuela: December Elections Could Be Most Difficult Yet

Upcoming parliamentary elections slated for December could be the most difficult ever for the ruling United Socialist Party of Venezuela due to the absence of Hugo Chavez and the right-wing economic war against the country, says Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro. Even so, he reiterated his government’s commitment to social justice, inclusion, peace and tranquility. In response to John Kerry’s comment that “Venezuela is an imperfect democracy,” Maduro said, that in the eyes of the Venezuelans, “we have the best democracy that’s ever existed in the history of the country.” teleSUR
