Peruvian Truck Loaders Work in Precarious Conditions

Peruvian workers who unload trucks at Lima's markets work in the most precarious of conditions. While receiving low pay, they suffer from chronic spine, knee, and ankle injuries as they have to carry loads of up to 100 kilos, twice the legal limit. In addition, they do not receive workplace benefits such as sick-leave or health care. Their union is starting to strategize and fight back for better working conditions.
