My first boating adventure - brief snapshots

Keeping things short (my Facebook post details the whole story far more), when I arrived in Minot, I was in for a surprise in the form of a pontoon boat. It took a while but I finally got to go on the boat. It was quite enjoyable, scary, and frustrating all at the same time. It was scary because, when the water was going past 5 feet deep, that freaked me out. 50 feet deep was much scarier. I did know that, if I fell in, I could at least handle it as I know how to float quite well. I can also tread and swim, but I exhaust fairly quickly and I'm rather slow, but I can at least survive it.

The frustrating part comes from the fact the whole time was riddled with bad luck. Between the motor conking out a lot, fishing lines frequently getting tangled up, the wind pushing us around making it hard to stay put, inferior anchors not really gripping the silt bottom, the anchor hooking on a tree (I was tempted to jump in the water and help untangling it), and a bobber tangling around the transponder for the depth finder giving lots of false positives for fish (I was kind of tempted to jump in the water to help untangle this as well).

Because my parents don't want to be filmed, it's frustratingly difficult to record video so I mostly took photos of the event instead. So, I took video of what I could take video of and there wasn't much I could get.
