Following others, French carmaker Renault to enter into the AMT transmission club pretty soon. The company will showcase its Easy-R AMT transmission system at the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show.

Although no Renault brand cars will use the East-R system anytime soon. The system would make its debut in Renault’s budget brand Dacia. First cars to be using this technology would be the Dacia Logan, Dacia Sandero, Logan MCV, and the Sandero Stepaway.

As far as India is concerned, the upcoming Renault Kwid will have a version equipped with the Easy-R. One drawback of the Easy-R AMT transmission could be the fact that the driver would not be able to shift gears manually as is the case with AMT transmissions available in Maruti and Tata cars.
