Check out the German carmaker - Borgward, planning an entry into the Indian market.
Borgward, the German carmaker which made a return to the automobile world after a hiatus of over five decades, is all set to enter India. At the earliest, the company might come to India next year. Initially plans are to import cars and then sell them here. Later on, the company may use one of the manufacturing units of its partner near Chennai to manufacture the vehicles here.

Whether or not Borgward would be successful in India only time will tell. But there’s no doubt that the company will face an extremely difficult task of successfully wooing the Indian public as they are spoilt for choices when it comes to SUVs in the country. And apart from that, the current Borgward offering, the BX7 does not offer much in terms of choices. For instance, the car is available only in petrol and does not have any diesel version, which could be a big problem as far as India is concerned. Let’s hope Borgward will take these things into account before starting its operation India.
