Mercedes Benz India just confirmed that it will bring the AMG GT, a spiritual successor to SLS AMG to the Indian market by the end of 2015.
The Mercedes-AMG GT is already on sale in international markets, and competes with the likes of Jaguar F-Type, Porshce 911 Turbo and others.
Designed and engineered on SLA AMG's platform, the AMG GT is lighter and stiffer unlike its predecessor, and takes the design inspiration from Vision GT concept.
Motivation for the AMG GT will come from a twin-turbocharged V8 4.0 liter engine that’s offered in two states of tunes - 503bhp for AMG GT S and 456bhp for standard AMG GT.
The engine will be teamed up with Gertarg dual clutch seven-speed transmission, and accelerates to 100kmph in 3.9 seconds.
Though there is no clarity about the variant of the car that will come to India, we believe it might be the Mercedes-AMG GT Edition 1. It’s expected to be priced over Rs. 2.25 crores.
