Martin Winterkon, Volkswagen Group Emperor recently confirmed that a Bugatti Veyron successor will be equipped with a hybrid engine churning out 1500 horsepower with the top speed of 460 kilometers per hour.
While developing really-really budget friendly cars for developing markets, the automaker is working on Veyron’s replacement with five developmental prototypes. Uh oh!
Like Bugatti Veyron, the all-new hypercar will be based on carbon fiber lightweight monocoque chassis with mid engine layout. The current hybrid cars like Porsche 918, McLaren P1 and Ferrari LaFerrari seem to have convinced Volkswagen that e-boosting hypermodels is the way to go.
If this information is true, the vehicle will be more of an evolution than revolution, after all, we want a four-wheel drive hypercar with 7-speed dual clutch gearbox and carbon fiber tub.
With just 450 units to be built, c will go on sale in 2017. Enjoy!
