AAP Govt issues deadline to doctors

A day after Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal accepted all demands of the protesting doctors, Delhi Government on Tuesday (June 23) asked them to end their strike by 11 AM. Kejriwal yesterday said that he found all their demands genuine and has directed the Health Department to implement them immediately. "Most demands of striking doctors genuine. I have directed Health Department to implement them. Health Department should have resolved it earlier (sic)," Kejriwal said on Twitter. Resident doctors at 20 Delhi hospitals launched the strike yesterday, demanding adequate supply of life saving drugs, security at workplace, fixed duty hours and timely payment of their salaries. On February 27, resident doctors had gone on a day-long strike over similar issues but it was called off after both the Centre and the state government held a meeting and discussed their issues.
