El Salvador: LGBTI Community Rejects Gay Marriage Ban

A constitutional reform that prohibits gay marriage and only allows a union between a man and a woman was passed by the Salvadoran Legislative Assembly in April by 47 votes. Yes votes came from the right-wing parties that were the main backers of the measure, while the FMLN abstained.
