Mexico: Protesters in March for Migrant Rights Clash with Police

Demonstrators in the annual march for migrant rights in the southern Mexican state of Oaxaca clashed with police. The confrontation occurred when protesters attempted to break through police lines. The march was to demand greater protection for Central American migrants travelling to the United States, and was joined by local activists and members of the combative teachers' union. The thousands of migrants traveling through Mexico en route to the United States are easy prey for organized crime and corrupt police. teleSUR
