00:25So, there is food and there is food for thought and then there is coaching.

00:38People are sitting having their evening snack as if nothing has happened

00:43and the restaurant is serving them with the best possible delicacy.

00:49And meters away from here, if you would see, there are thousands of students

00:55sitting on the street on a candle march protest against the death of 3 students

01:01at one of the premier UPSC training academies here in old Rajinder Nagar.

01:06With the death, with the sad unfortunate passing away of those 3 students,

01:11the questions have started to come out that what about the basic amenities?

01:15Why did that basement get filled up with rainwater?

01:20Who gave the clearance?

01:21Why was the basement made right in the line of the road?

01:25Just meters away from a huge sewer line.

01:30All these things have come into picture.

01:32People are now pointing out at all the banners, at the electricity poles

01:37which are full of unprotected wires and also right next to it is one banner

01:45saying that you should be coming out and taking this coaching center.

01:49Residents and students alike are protesting and one of the residents is here with us.

01:53Ma'am, your name first of all and secondly, this whole thing that is transpiring here,

02:00Hi everyone, my name is Nikita and I am resident over here from last 24 years.

02:06And this thing is happening right now but I can say this thing is happening from last many years.

02:13And this protest gives the strength to the students because of the death of those students who died.

02:18These students come from outside.

02:20You guys have been living here for 24 years.

02:22Students have also been here.

02:23What have you done in your capacity to make the situation better?

02:26We have also given many complaints.

02:30To the MCDs also.

02:32Which is the nearest MCD office here?

02:41So, this MCD has been ruled in the last two decades.

02:44It has been ruled by Congress, BJP and Aam Aadmi Party now.

03:01Because everybody, every political party comes and sees this thing.

03:11If you go outside from this lane, you will see there is a small pot of water.

03:20What is the solution ma'am?

03:22Solution is that government should take some action.

03:25Which government?

03:26Delhi government or the central government?

03:28And the central government.

03:29Right.

03:31And what kind of action will it be?

03:33Especially for the water.

03:34Especially for the drainage.

03:35Drainage.

03:36Especially for the roads.

03:37And especially for the residents as well as the aspirants.

03:41Why I am asking the residents very straightforward questions is for the fact that these lakhs

03:47and lakhs of students who come here, who pay hefty rent to the residents here, to the landowners

03:53here, apparently who have nexus with the property dealers and they are increasing the price

03:59but not the quality of life here.

04:02This is a desperate vicious cycle.

04:04And unless this is broken, no matter by whom, this will continue.

04:09And that's the saddest part.

04:10She has been living here for the last 24 years.

04:12Have you seen any changes happening here?

04:15Some changes happened here due to aspirants and I can say because of these people.

04:21There are something new we can see in every festival.

04:26Some noises, something good vibes over here.

04:30Otherwise, this place is only silent.

04:40And as far as the voices of the students and the residents is concerned, then certainly

04:44with this kind of protest, which many are saying only second to the Nirbhaya protest
